Ahmedabad, Aug 5 (NationPress) In line with Gujarat's "Review Initiative" to expedite crucial projects, senior government officials are stepping up their efforts.
Recently, State Tourism Secretary Rajendra Kumar visited the revered town of Ambaji to evaluate the preparations for the forthcoming Bhadrapadi Poonam Maha Mela, scheduled from September 1 to 7, 2025.
This grand religious event is expected to draw over 35 to 40 lakh devotees and is being co-organized by the Gujarat Pavitra Yatradham Vikas Board alongside the Banaskantha district administration and the Shri Arasuri Ambaji Mata Devasthan Trust.
During a series of high-level discussions, Kumar assessed various aspects including sanitation, crowd management, transportation, drinking water, food services, temporary accommodations, health care, fire safety, and electricity arrangements, ensuring a clean and safe pilgrimage experience.
In addition to the mela, he also reviewed progress on the Rinchhdia Mahadev and Teliya Eco-Trail development projects, providing essential guidance to local authorities.
This year, extensive infrastructure improvements are planned for the Ambaji shrine town: six toilet blocks, free drinking water, medical counters, rest domes, complimentary food shelters, parking zones with CCTV, and over 30 water counters will be established.
The temple complex, main roads, and Gabbar Hill route will be adorned with decorative and thematic lighting to create a festive and divine ambiance.
The mela will also showcase handicraft stalls and one-day cultural events.
The Ambaji Temple, situated in the Aravalli hills of Gujarat's Banaskantha district, ranks among the 51 Shakti Peethas in India and holds significant religious and cultural value.
Dedicated to Arasuri Amba, this temple is believed to be the site where the heart of Goddess Sati fell, making it a revered location for followers of the Shakti tradition.
Unlike many temples, it does not house an idol; rather, a sacred Yantra inscribed on a marble platform is worshipped.
The temple's history spans centuries and is deeply connected to Gujarat's spiritual legacy.
Each year, millions of pilgrims flock during the Bhadrapadi Poonam fair, reaffirming Ambaji's enduring significance as a hub of devotion, tradition, and cultural unity.
