Key Takeaways
Panchkula, Dec 24 (NationPress) In a commendation of Haryana's Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini for his farmer-centric initiatives, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday unveiled significant projects for the state, including the inauguration of a milk chilling facility in Salempur of Bhiwani district, the HAFED flour mill at Jatusana in Rewari district, as well as the IYC portal designed by the Ministry of Cooperation.
As the chief guest at a major cooperative conference attended by Chief Minister Saini, Home Minister Shah distributed RuPay Platinum debit cards to five beneficiaries of the Haryana State Cooperative Banks and presented registration certificates to the presidents of two new M-PACS established by KRIBHCO in Haryana.
He also launched an annual report on IYC-related activities released by KRIBHCO, following a screening of their corporate film.
Home Minister Shah praised CM Saini for his decisive leadership and farmer-friendly strategies, labeling him a transformative figure in the governance of the state.
He emphasized how the Chief Minister has empowered farmers and established Haryana as a national example for transparent, efficient, and visionary administration.
Shah noted CM Saini's bravery and resolve, pointing out that he has achieved what few other governments have dared to undertake.
“When the decision to procure 24 crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP) was included in the election manifesto, I received a late-night call from Nayab Singh Saini assuring me of its feasibility; he confidently stated he would handle the procurement process,” the Home Minister remarked, applauding Haryana as the first state to guarantee MSP for all 24 crops.
The Home Minister highlighted that Haryana not only procures crops but ensures payment to farmers within 48 hours of procurement, marking a significant administrative revolution.
CM Saini has also secured the highest prices for sugarcane farmers in the nation, setting a precedent for other states to follow, according to Home Minister Shah.
He further highlighted Haryana’s initiatives in water management and irrigation. Under the “Per Drop -- More Crop” scheme, the state offers 85% subsidies, expands irrigation to previously neglected regions, and has constructed 2,088 Amrit Sarovars, reflecting forward-thinking and strategic planning.
Despite being a relatively small state, Home Minister Shah remarked that Haryana consistently contributes to agriculture, dairy production, sports, and national security.
He reiterated that while Haryana plays a significant role in industry, GST, and income tax contributions, the ultimate measure of any government is the welfare of its farmers.
Home Minister Shah expressed confidence that, adhering to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra of ‘Sahkar se Samriddhi’ (prosperity through cooperation), CM Saini will further enhance Haryana’s reputation among India’s leading states.
