Amit Shah Meeting Inspires Sobha Surendran to Strengthen Kerala BJP

Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 2 (NationPress) Notable BJP leader from Kerala, Sobha Surendran, has conveyed her excitement following a discussion with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. She took to social media on Thursday to express that this meeting has significantly boosted her confidence in her capacity to propel the Kerala BJP towards greater success.
"Post Sardar Patel, Amit Shah stands out as the most influential Home Minister. His contributions to the nation's security, alongside those of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are unmatched. After our conversation, I feel assured in my ability to advance the Kerala BJP," Sobha stated.
At the age of 50, Sobha is known for her passionate speeches and has garnered a substantial following among the BJP's female supporters in the region. There is ongoing speculation about her potential appointment as the next president of the Kerala BJP, taking over from the current leader, K. Surendran.
As the current vice president, her latest social media update, featuring a picture with Shah, has ignited conversations about her prospective rise within the party.
Sobha's political achievements highlight her popularity and perseverance. In the April 2024 Alappuzha Lok Sabha elections, she accumulated nearly three lakh votes—an increase of over one lakh from the party's count in 2019—despite finishing in third place. Her connection with Shah was particularly evident when he actively campaigned for her in Alappuzha during the elections.
She has also shown commendable results in state elections, securing second place in the Kazhakootam constituency in 2016 and in Palakkad in 2021.
Nevertheless, the Kerala BJP is currently facing internal divisions, with factions led by K. Surendran and former Union Minister V. Muraleedharan on one side, and leaders like P.K. Krishnadas and M.T. Ramesh on the other. Sobha, recognized for her independent approach, has kept the political scenario unpredictable.
Her post on Thursday has sparked renewed speculations and is expected to create some discomfort among certain BJP leaders in Kerala.
