Amaravati, Jan 18 (NationPress) On Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held discussions with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan regarding various issues pertinent to the state.
The Home Minister arrived in Vijayawada to attend the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) Raising Day ceremony on Sunday. He subsequently visited Chief Minister Naidu’s residence in Undavalli, Amaravati, where he engaged in talks with Naidu and Kalyan.
During the visit, Naidu hosted a dinner for Shah. The Chief Minister shared on ‘X’ that he, alongside Pawan Kalyan, extended a hearty welcome to Amit Shah at his home in Undavalli.
“Our discussions encompassed various aspects concerning the development of Andhra Pradesh,” Naidu noted in his post.
The meeting, which included BJP state president and MP D. Purandeswari and other coalition leaders, lasted around an hour.
Earlier, upon his arrival at Gannavaram Airport, Amit Shah received a warm reception. Leaders such as Union Minister of State for Home Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Information Technology and Human Resources Nara Lokesh, and Home Minister V. Anitha were present.
After the dinner at Naidu’s residence, the Union Home Minister headed to a star hotel in Vijayawada for an overnight stay.
The following day, Amit Shah and Chandrababu Naidu are set to inaugurate the new campus of the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM) southern campus and the NDRF 10th Battalion headquarters in Kondapavuluru village, located in Krishna district.
The NDRF's 10th Battalion will commemorate its 20th Raising Day on its premises in Kondapavuluru.
Established on January 19, 2006, following the enactment of the Disaster Management Act of 2005, the NDRF began with eight battalions and has since expanded to sixteen.
Constructed on a 50-acre site at a cost of Rs.110 crore, the NDRF 10th Battalion headquarters comprises a training center, an administrative block, living quarters for staff, barracks, storage areas, a kennel, and additional facilities.
