Bhopal, April 12 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Bhopal on Sunday to participate in an event organized by the Madhya Pradesh government.

This event will also see the presence of representatives from all major stakeholders engaged in the milk and dairy sector.

During this visit, the Madhya Pradesh government will announce a significant initiative for the dairy industry by signing a collaborative agreement, among other plans.

This collaborative agreement was recently revealed by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who stated that it would be vital for increasing the income of milk producers and enhancing milk production in the area.

The proposal, which has already received approval from the state Cabinet, will be effective for five years with a possibility for extension. It includes plans to establish collection centers in every gram panchayat and to boost the processing capacity of milk unions.

As per the Madhya Pradesh government, this initiative will require a significant investment of Rs 2,500 crore under the White Revolution Mission, aimed at ensuring fair pricing and effective milk procurement for dairy farmers.

The initiative also seeks to increase the number of milk committees from 6,000 to 9,000, covering nearly 18,000 villages, and is expected to double daily milk collection from 10.50 lakh kg to 20 lakh kg.

The involvement of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) will expand the coverage of Milk Producer Organisations from 1,390 to 2,590 villages, with milk procurement projected to rise from 1.3 lakh kg to 3.7 lakh kg per day, according to previous statements from the Madhya Pradesh government.

The current capacity of the state's dairy plants, which is 18 lakh litres per day, is anticipated to reach 30 lakh litres daily.

In the next five years, an estimated Rs 1,500 crore will be invested, aiming to double the annual income of milk producers from Rs 1,700 crore to Rs 3,500 crore.

The NDDB will play a crucial role in strengthening the Sanchi brand's presence on a national scale, without changing the brand name or imposing management fees.

Moreover, a complaint redressal system will be established to handle grievances from dairy farmers linked to milk cooperative societies.

Amit Shah is expected to arrive at the venue by 12 p.m. and will preside over a meeting to review the progress of the Cooperative department, gathering feedback from representatives of various stakeholders.

In addition, the Madhya Pradesh government will present an overview of preparations for the Simhastha Kumbh Mela - 2028 in Ujjain.

The Union Home Minister will be briefed on the innovations planned for the upcoming Simhastha Kumbh Mela.

As per sources, Amit Shah might engage in informal discussions with senior BJP leaders.
