New Delhi, April 4 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to visit Chhattisgarh on Friday for a two-day assessment of the progress in the ongoing anti-Naxal operations within the state.
During this visit, HM Shah will lead a high-level meeting to examine the current operations, with a specific focus on the Leftwing insurgency-affected areas of Bastar and Gariaband. His itinerary includes a direct evaluation of the security conditions in these regions, particularly highlighting the advancements and efficiency of the anti-Naxal initiatives.
This visit takes place at a pivotal moment as Chhattisgarh has achieved notable success in its battle against Naxal violence. In 2025 alone, at least 130 Naxalites have been eliminated in encounters, with more than 110 fatalities occurring in the Bastar division, encompassing the districts of Bijapur and Kanker.
Furthermore, over 105 Naxalites have been apprehended, while 164 have voluntarily surrendered as part of the ongoing efforts to restore peace in the region.
