Jagdalpur, Oct 4 (NationPress) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday categorically dismissed any chance of discussions with Maoist factions, asserting that both the Centre and the Chhattisgarh government are not inclined to engage in negotiations.

During his visit to Bastar, he stated, "When the most effective rehabilitation policy is operational and approximately ₹5 lakh crore has been allocated for Chhattisgarh's development in the last decade, what is there left to discuss?"

His comments were made in response to recent overtures from Maoist groups, who circulated pamphlets and letters indicating their willingness to start dialogues with the state government.

However, HM Shah rejected these initiatives, reaffirming that the government's position is unequivocal: surrender or face obliteration.

The Union Home Minister is in Bastar to take part in the Dussehra festivities.

Chhattisgarh has a rich tradition of celebrating Dussehra for 75 days.

While addressing a crowd in Jagdalpur, HM Shah called on villagers across Chhattisgarh to encourage Maoists who have deviated from the mainstream to disarm and assist in the state's advancement.

He pointed out that ₹4.40 lakh crore has already been allocated for development initiatives, leading to the establishment of new industries, educational institutions, and hospitals.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has ensured over 15,000 homes for families impacted by Naxal violence," the Union Home Minister noted.

He further emphasized the government's determined effort to eradicate the insurgency.

"Some people propose dialogue, but what is left to discuss when we have put into action the best surrender policy? Once a village is declared Naxal-free, the Chhattisgarh government will promptly allocate ₹1 crore for its development. Over 500 Maoists have surrendered in just the past month. If they do not surrender, our security forces are ready to eliminate Naxalism from the nation by March 31, 2026; this date has been set," he cautioned.

This statement is part of a larger crackdown occurring in Chhattisgarh.

According to official statistics, security forces have ramped up their operations, resulting in the surrender of 985 Maoists, the arrest of 1,177, and the death of 305 insurgents in encounters over the last 13 months.

In Bijapur district alone, 410 Maoists have surrendered this year, including several senior leaders with bounties on their heads.

The government has connected its security strategy with developmental projects, aiming to diminish Maoist influence through infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and job creation.
