Bhubaneswar, March 6 (NationPress) - On Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah revealed that the newly formed BJP-led government in Odisha is implementing various initiatives aimed at realizing the vision of a “Viksit Odisha-2036” and “Viksit India-2047”.
During a gathering in Bhubaneswar, HM Shah highlighted that the goal of establishing a ‘Viksit Odisha’ and ‘Viksit India’ will be achieved through comprehensive social and economic growth in the state.
According to Union Home Minister Shah, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the state is advancing towards becoming a developed region by ensuring that every individual, irrespective of their category, is part of the developmental journey.
He also discussed significant welfare initiatives, including the guarantee of a Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 3,100 per quintal for paddy, and the launch of the Subhadra scheme to empower women, which is integral to the vision of a 'Viksit Odisha.'
HM Shah remarked that Odisha is rich in art and culture.
In a groundbreaking move, the Home Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation for a series of development projects totaling Rs 3,275 crore in just one day, and MoUs for six new projects were signed during the event.
“These initiatives will elevate the lives of farmers, youth, and mothers in Odisha, contributing to the overall prosperity of the state,” stated CM Majhi.
The Chief Minister also praised Union Home Minister Shah for his unmatched contributions to strengthening and professionalizing the Odisha Police.
“As a result, the conviction rate in crimes against women in Odisha surged by 41% in the first six months of 2025, compared to a mere 6.7% in 2023. Alongside police reforms, the vision of 'Sahkarita se Samriddhi' is in line with our aspiration for a 'Samruddha Odisha'. The cooperative model will integrate marginal communities into the economic development process. When millions in the state gain economic empowerment, Odisha will thrive, and India will flourish,” CM Majhi asserted.
Notably, Odisha has become the first state in India to adopt the Cooperative Policy-2026, aligning with the national cooperative vision to fortify cooperative institutions across the state.
Several additional projects were launched on Friday, including the inauguration of 1,566 PACS Common Service Centres and an MoU for the establishment of a campus for the School of Tribhuvan Sahkari University (TSU).
