Hailing from Prakasam district, Udaya Krishna achieved an impressive 350th rank in the Civil Services examination.
“His journey illustrates that no aspiration is too lofty when coupled with courage and unwavering dedication. This narrative serves as a reminder that perseverance can shatter any obstacle and reshape futures. The future is bright for those who refuse to back down,” stated the Chief Minister.
Nara Lokesh, the Minister for Human Resources Development and Information Technology, also extended his congratulations to Udaya Krishna for attaining an All India Rank (AIR) of 350 and successfully entering the IPS.
“From a government school background to a police Constable and now an IPS officer — his journey is a stunning tale of determination, sacrifice, and unyielding spirit. Truly motivational!” Lokesh shared on X.
In addition, Telangana’s Additional Director General of Police Mahesh Bhagwath, who mentors civil services aspirants along with his team, congratulated Udaya Krishna as well.
The senior police official praised Udaya Krishna's journey as exemplary and noted that he was mentored by them, achieving 210 marks, which is the third highest.
Udaya Krishna was educated at a government school in Ullapalam village, Prakasam district. Despite being born into poverty and losing both parents at a young age, he persevered through sheer hard work and determination.
Raised by his grandmother, Ramanamma, who sold vegetables, he was also guided by his uncle, Koti Reddy.
Udaya Krishna began his career in the state police as a Constable in 2013. After facing disrespect from a superior officer, he committed to becoming an IPS officer.
He left his job in 2018 to focus entirely on preparing for the Civil Services. Although he faced setbacks in three attempts, he never lost hope. In his fourth attempt, he secured the 780th rank and joined the Indian Railway Management Service (IRMS).
However, he was not satisfied with this achievement and remained focused on his goal. While undergoing training, he took the UPSC exam again, ultimately achieving the 350th rank to fulfill his dream of wearing the IPS uniform.
