Patna, Dec 23 (NationPress) The Bihar government has presented a significant New Year’s gift to the IPS officers of the state.
On Tuesday, the Home Department released promotion orders for numerous IPS officials, greatly enhancing the senior leadership of the Bihar Police.
As per the notification, ADG Headquarters Kundan Krishnan has been elevated to the position of Director General (DG).
Moreover, the Home Department has promoted five IPS officers currently on central deputation, along with three DIG-rank officers stationed in the state, to the rank of Inspector General (IG).
The department has also elevated 22 SP-rank officers to the rank of Deputy Inspector General (DIG). Additionally, 12 IPS officers have been promoted to the Senior Scale.
A total of 22 IPS officers from the 2012 batch have been promoted from the Senior Scale to the DIG rank.
The promotion order will take effect from January 1, 2026, or from the date of assuming charge, whichever comes first.
The Home Department emphasized that these promotions were executed strictly following the Indian Police Service (IPS) regulations, based on the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC).
Many of these officers had been eagerly awaiting promotion for a considerable time, and this announcement has fostered a celebratory mood within the police department.
The list of officers promoted to the DIG rank features several esteemed and seasoned IPS officers, including Akash Kumar, Anand Kumar, Kumar Ashish, Ravi Ranjan Kumar, Manoj Tiwari, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Ajay Kumar Pandey, Sushant Kumar Saroj, and Deepak Ranjan.
Other promoted officers include Dr Inayatullah Haq Mengnu, Amir Javed, Ashok Kumar Singh, Sanjay Kumar Singh, Shailesh Kumar, Satyanarayan Kumar Singh, Ramashankar Rai, and Sushil Kumar, among others.
In total, 22 officers have achieved promotion to the DIG rank, which is anticipated to significantly bolster the senior leadership framework of the Bihar Police.
The majority of the promoted officers are presently engaged in district police administration, special units, the Economic Offences Unit, training institutions, and essential headquarters roles.
Officials are optimistic that this extensive promotion initiative will enhance administrative effectiveness and fortify policing throughout the state in the upcoming year.
