Patna, Jan 9 (NationPress) In a significant administrative overhaul, the Bihar Home Department executed the transfer of 71 Indian Police Service (IPS) officers on Friday, as reported by officials.

The General Administration Department released an official notification detailing the transfers.

Among the prominent changes, Preeta Verma, an officer from the 1991 batch, has been designated as the Director General of the Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation in Patna, having previously served as the Director General (Training) of Bihar Police.

Also noteworthy is the promotion of Kundan Krishnan, a 1994-batch IPS officer, who has transitioned from Additional Director General (ADG) for Headquarters and Operations to Director General (Operations). He will also oversee the Special Branch of the Bihar Police.

R. Malar Willy, another 1994-batch officer, has been shifted from his role as ADG at the Bihar Police Training Institute in Rajgir to the position of ADG of the Special Armed Force.

Amit Kumar Jain, previously ADG of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), has been reassigned to lead the Liquor Prohibition Department.

Sunil Kumar, formerly ADG of the Special Branch, will now serve as the State ADG Headquarters.

Kamal Kishore Singh, who held the ADG position in Budget and Police Welfare, will now also manage the ADG of the Railways Department.

At the Inspector General (IG) level, Ranjeet Kumar Mishra, who was the IG of the Bihar Special Armed Force, has been shifted to head the Cyber Crime Security Unit.

Additionally, Manoj Kumar, IG of Saharsa Range, has been transferred to the Police Headquarters in Patna.

The reshuffle extends beyond senior officers, with significant changes at the district level, resulting in new appointments for Superintendents of Police (SPs) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) across several districts in the state.

As per the official release, Santosh Kumar is now the SP of Kishanganj, while Kantesh Kumar Mishra is the new SSP of Muzaffarpur.

Jitendra Kumar has taken charge as SP of Araria, Vinay Tiwari as SP of Gopalganj, and Hridaykant has been appointed as SP of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS).

Sushil Kumar now serves as the SSP of Gaya, while Anant Kumar has been named as the Railway SP. Pramod Kumar Yadav is the SSP of Bhagalpur, and Vineet Kumar will serve as the SSP of Saran.

Sagar Kumar is now the Patna Traffic SP, and Puran Kumar Jha has been appointed as the Siwan SP.

Navjot Simi is the new SP of Arwal, Ramanand Kaushal takes on the role of SP of Bagaha, and Awadhesh Dixit will serve as SP of Lakhisarai.
