Amaravati, March 9 (NationPress) Following the push by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP President Chandrababu Naidu for incentives to encourage larger families, TDP MP from Vizianagaram, Kalisetti Appala Naidu, has pledged Rs 50,000 to women who give birth to a third child.

Additionally, a cow will be gifted to the mother if she delivers a boy.

The Lok Sabha member stated that he would fund this cash incentive from his own salary.

Appala Naidu's announcement has taken social media by storm, with TDP leaders and supporters sharing the news widely. Many women are praising this initiative as groundbreaking.

Chief Minister Naidu has commended the MP for his proposal.

The MP revealed this offer during a gathering held on Saturday in celebration of International Women’s Day at Rajiv Sports compound in Vizianagaram.

During a recent trip to Delhi, the Chief Minister expressed concerns about the shrinking population in South India, stating that an ageing populace presents challenges while states like Uttar Pradesh and Bihar maintain a younger demographic.

He stressed the importance of managing demographics in the long run rather than merely focusing on population control.

"I used to support family planning. Now, I am shifting my stance and advocating for population growth. India holds a significant advantage in terms of demographic dividend. If we can manage this effectively, the future looks bright for India and its people. The global community is looking towards us for services," he remarked.

On Saturday, Chandrababu Naidu announced that maternity leave would be extended to all women employees during childbirth, regardless of the number of children they already have.

This announcement was made at an event in Markapur, Prakasam district, in honor of International Women's Day.

"Previously, maternity leave was restricted to two children. Now, we are broadening this to support all children, irrespective of their number. This initiative aims to promote family growth, achieve population balance, and assist women in managing their careers and personal lives. We are dedicated to empowering women and paving the way for a stronger future in Andhra Pradesh," he shared on ‘X’.
