Amaravati, Nov 3 (NationPress) The government of Andhra Pradesh is set to finalize MoUs totaling Rs 9.8 lakh crore during the upcoming 30th CII Partnership Summit in Visakhapatnam on November 14 and 15.
Minister for HR, IT and Electronics Nara Lokesh announced on Monday that 410 MoUs are expected to be signed at this event.
According to him, Andhra Pradesh is leading in attracting investments, with major industrial players drawn to the state due to its efficient business environment, forward-thinking leadership, and a supportive 'double engine' government.
During a media briefing at his camp office, he emphasized that the CII summit will serve not just as a venue for investments but also as a global forum for discussing upcoming challenges and opportunities within the industrial landscape.
Lokesh mentioned that the NDA government is dedicated to fulfilling its promise of creating 20 lakh jobs as part of its 'super six' commitments, working diligently to achieve this goal.
He highlighted that Andhra Pradesh has attracted investments amounting to Rs 10 lakh crore over the past 16 months. Global corporations such as Google, Mittal, TCS, Cognizant, and Premier Energy are choosing to invest in Andhra Pradesh due to the streamlined business processes championed by visionary leader Chandrababu Naidu.
He noted that Arcelor Mittal has pledged an investment of Rs 1.5 lakh crore, while Google plans to invest 15 billion dollars in Visakhapatnam.
Minister Lokesh revealed that approximately 300 global industrial leaders from 45 countries will participate in the CII summit, featuring 72 international speakers, 48 business sessions, and 22 technical sessions.
He reiterated the government's commitment to regional development by adopting a cluster-based strategy to enhance various sectors. Through a combination of vertical and horizontal integration in industry and education, the government aims to leverage youth talent to create jobs.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, currently on a personal trip to London, announced the signing of a MoU between the Andhra Pradesh government and the Hinduja Group, which will result in a cumulative investment of Rs 20,000 crore to bolster the state's industrial and clean energy sectors.
The MoU includes initiatives such as expanding the 1,050 MW HNPCL plant in Visakhapatnam by an additional 1,600 MW (2×800 MW) to ensure consistent power supply for industries.
It also aims to develop extensive solar and wind energy projects in Rayalaseema to enhance Andhra Pradesh's clean energy capabilities.
A cutting-edge electric bus and light-vehicle manufacturing facility will be established in Mallavalli, Krishna, supporting sustainable mobility.
Additionally, a network of charging stations will be set up across Andhra Pradesh to facilitate the green transportation ecosystem.
