Amaravati, March 12 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu, revealed on Thursday that the government is evaluating a proposal to create an Electronics City in the vicinity of Hindupur.
In addition, CM Naidu declared plans for a Creative City in Amaravati aimed at fostering content creation, artificial intelligence, film, and various creative sectors, with the goal of enhancing the state's creative economy.
During the second day of a conference with district Collectors, he mentioned the ongoing development of the Visakhapatnam, Amaravati, and Tirupati areas as part of the Economic Region Development initiative.
He highlighted that Orvakal in Kurnool district is already progressing as an industrial cluster and with the available infrastructure, including an airport, it is positioned to transform into a significant industrial center in the future.
Similarly, he urged for the development of Kopparthi in Kadapa district as another industrial hub.
As per an official statement, he called on district Collectors to take initiative in attracting investments to stimulate industrial growth for wealth generation.
He emphasized that Collectors and ministers should actively seek out investors rather than waiting for them to approach. It is crucial to identify potential investors and engage with them proactively.
Meetings should also be organized at the district level to facilitate investment opportunities. The government will implement district-wise rankings to assess the efficiency of business operations.
Naidu remarked, "If industries cannot be attracted to a district, then other sectors like tourism, IT, MSMEs, or agriculture should be promoted based on the district's strengths and advantages. Development strategies must align with local capabilities and opportunities," he stated.
The Chief Minister urged Collectors to concentrate on the number of investments, job creation, and growth in per capita income achieved in their regions. Their effectiveness in promoting industries will be evaluated in the next conference.
He also stressed the importance of infrastructure projects, including ports, airports, and railways.
Highlighting the potential of the hospitality sector, he noted that Andhra Pradesh holds vast opportunities in this field, which has been given industry status due to tourism.
The state aims to establish 50,000 hotel rooms across Andhra Pradesh, while also promoting large-scale development of homestays.
With rising global conflicts, a surge in domestic tourism is anticipated as travelers prefer local destinations over international ones.
He pointed out that many countries have successfully advanced tourism even in areas with limited natural appeal, whereas Andhra Pradesh is rich in historical sites and pilgrimage destinations.
He concluded that ancient monuments and structures with significant historical value should be nurtured and developed.
