New Delhi, Oct 10 (NationPress) As the Bihar Assembly elections approach, political activity is intensifying, particularly within the NDA. BJP’s Bihar State President Dilip Jaiswal announced on Friday that the coalition's seat-sharing agreement would be revealed very soon.
“Everything will be finalized shortly; the seat announcements will be made within a day or two. I have previously mentioned that the NDA has embarked on the elections with robust unity, and there are no remaining concerns regarding seat-sharing or candidate declarations,” Jaiswal informed reporters in Patna.
His remarks aim to counter rumors about potential internal conflicts over seat-sharing within the alliance, which includes the BJP, JD(U), HAM, RLJP, and various smaller parties.
JD(U) national spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan also affirmed the coalition's solidarity, stating that all seat-sharing decisions have already been reached.
“Everything has been determined. Please anticipate the joint announcement. There is no confusion present. Negotiations among the five member parties are complete. This is typical; whenever elections are held following the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct, seat-sharing resolutions come next. The announcement will be made shortly,” Ranjan stated.
He further emphasized that the NDA is well-prepared and optimistic about regaining power.
“We are determined to accomplish our goal with full vigor. The people's support is with us. The NDA will form the next government, and Nitish Kumar will be the subsequent Chief Minister,” he declared.
In a pointed criticism of the opposition, Ranjan remarked: “This is the NDA, not the Mahagathbandhan, where member parties attempt to exert influence until the last moment. Just yesterday, leading Congress figures reportedly declined to meet Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav. The Left, including CPI(ML), and parties such as VIP are already expressing dissent. Everything here is entirely normal, and with the forthcoming seat-sharing announcement, clarity will emerge.”
Meanwhile, the nomination process for the initial phase of the Bihar Assembly elections commenced on Friday, with candidates submitting papers for 121 seats across 18 districts. Voting for this phase is set for November 6, with districts participating in the polls including Gopalganj, Siwan, Patna, Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Nalanda, and Darbhanga, among others.
The elections will occur in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with counting scheduled for November 14.
