The Governor highlighted that illegal immigrants are making efforts to infiltrate the state. They engaged in extensive discussions regarding security and law enforcement, emphasizing border management, indigenous matters, and other critical issues essential for the state’s stability and welfare.
Stressing the importance of being proactive in facing emerging challenges, the Governor advised the Home Minister to progressively implement technology in strengthening security systems, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision.
He pointed out that employing geo-spatial technology is crucial for governance, alongside a heightened awareness of cyber security, which has become increasingly vital for the state. “Our state must prioritize cyber security to ensure the safety and confidence of every citizen in this digital age,” stated Lt General Parnaik (Retd).
The Governor praised the Home Minister, Director General of Police Anand Mohan, and the entire police force for their diligent and peaceful execution of the recent Panchayat and local bodies’ elections. He also lauded the Home Minister’s committed leadership in the ongoing fight against drugs, deeming it a crucial mission to protect the youth and the social fabric of Arunachal Pradesh.
While overseeing the rescue efforts following the Chaglagam road accident, the Governor expressed concern for public safety and recommended that the Home Minister instruct district police to vigilantly monitor vehicle movements during nighttime as a precaution.
He emphasized that proactive measures, timely oversight, and collaboration at the district level can significantly mitigate risks and help save invaluable lives.
Last month (December 2025), a tragic incident occurred where at least 20 laborers from Assam lost their lives and several others were injured when a truck carrying them plunged into a steep gorge along the Hayuliang-Chaglagam road in the eastern part of Arunachal Pradesh’s Anjaw district.
The state Home Minister provided the Governor with an update on the current law and order situation in the state, detailing the challenges encountered on the ground and the strategies implemented to tackle them.
