Itanagar, Jan 8 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Pema Khandu, declared on Wednesday that there has been a remarkable increase in the enrollment rate in elementary education, alongside a notable decline in the average annual dropout figures at the secondary level.
He highlighted that the average annual dropout rate at the secondary level has now dropped to 11.7 percent.
In a post shared on the platform X, CM Khandu stated: "In harmony with the visionary goals set forth by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji, as effectively outlined in the new National Education Policy-2020, Team Arunachal is propelling the state's educational framework through a series of well-structured interventions and supportive measures."
He further emphasized: "Our collective endeavors have resulted in exceptional outcomes. The Adjusted Net Enrollment Rate in elementary education has achieved an impressive 100 percent. Likewise, the average annual school dropout rate at the secondary level has seen a significant reduction."
Innovative initiatives such as 'Building as Learning Aid' and the creation of new Eklavya Model Residential Schools have made modern educational resources available to every child, underscoring our dedication to inclusive and quality education for all, the Chief Minister noted.
According to the 2024 SDG scorecard, the adjusted net enrollment rate in elementary education stands at 100 percent.
Recently, CM Khandu announced plans to establish a university-level institute in partnership with the US-based International Centre for Cultural Studies (ICCS) aimed at promoting, documenting, researching, and educating on the indigenous cultures, beliefs, and languages of the state.
The ICCS already operates a center in Arunachal Pradesh named RIWATCH, located in Roing in the Lower Dibang Valley, which focuses on the documentation, preservation, promotion, and research of the Idu-Mishmi culture and language.
The Chief Minister held a special meeting with ICCS Founder Yashwant Pathak in Itanagar during the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of the Indigenous Faith and Cultural Society of Arunachal Pradesh (IFCSAP).
