New Delhi, April 13 (NationPress) The passing of the renowned singer Asha Bhosle has left the film industry in deep sorrow, creating an irreplaceable void. As family and friends come together for her final rites, the Modi Archive, a well-known social media platform on X, revisited the remarkable journey of this iconic artist and highlighted her touching dialogues with Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the years.

Asha Bhosle expressed her admiration for the development initiatives under the Modi government, remarking that India has seen greater prosperity in the past decade.

The archive shared a memorable first interaction that laid the foundation for their enduring relationship. “Namaskar. This is Asha Bhosle. Mara Vhala, Kem chho?” Narendra Modi was taken aback and laughed heartily at the unexpected call, the Modi Archive disclosed.

“She initiated the call. She had no obligation to do so. Asha Bhosle's melodious voice has been the soundtrack of independent India, recording over 12,000 songs across eight decades. Yet, she reached out to a Chief Minister she had never met, mentioning her mother's Gujarati heritage. Gujarat’s development was her ‘farz,’ or duty. After hanging up, their mutual acquaintance remarked, ‘Asha Ben, our Modi Bhai is a very good man,’ which left a lasting impression on her,” the post elaborated.

Their first personal meeting happened in 2013 during the inauguration of the Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital in Pune.

“Their face-to-face meeting occurred in 2013 at the inauguration of the Dinanath Mangeshkar Super Speciality Hospital in Pune, built in honor of her father, who had passed away partly due to inadequate medical care. Before taking his place on stage, Narendra Modi turned to her and simply asked, ‘Didi, kaisi hain aap?’ Despite being surrounded by the formalities of government, he addressed her as sister. That day, he reminded her that the Mangeshkar sisters could have honored their father through music alone, but they chose to honor him by aiding others in recovery,” shared the Modi Archive.

As time went on, their bond deepened.

“She delighted him by singing a Gujarati song. As he departed, he folded his hands and said, ‘Didi, I am leaving. Will see you later.’ From that moment, she regarded him as her younger brother. On that day, her ten-year-old grandson was also present in Pune. Unaware of the unwritten rules of addressing Chief Ministers, he boldly proclaimed to Modi, ‘Landslide victory.’

PM Modi chuckled and responded, ‘Bhagwaan bachchon ke munh se bolta hai,’ meaning 'God speaks through the mouths of children.' Life continued after that meeting, and a decade later, at another event, her granddaughter found herself seated near the Prime Minister. Expecting him to be courteous yet distant, she asked, ‘Do you remember me?’ He replied instantly, ‘Once I meet someone, I never forget them.’ Then, he inquired about her brother, asking where he was and how he was doing,” the post continued.

“Asha Bhosle mentioned that her granddaughter was astonished. The Prime Minister, responsible for leading 1.4 billion people, remembered a ten-year-old boy he had only met in passing a decade ago. It may seem insignificant, but when you consider it, it's indeed profound,” added the Modi Archive.

The post also reflected on a profoundly emotional moment in the singer's life.

“In October 2015, Asha Bhosle faced the heartbreaking loss of her son Hemant, who passed away unexpectedly from cancer in Scotland. She wrote to the Prime Minister to express her regrets for not being able to attend his event in Delhi. ‘My sincere apologies,’ she conveyed. Modi responded with compassion: ‘Dear Asha Bhosle Tai, I am saddened by the unfortunate passing of your son. My thoughts are with you during this period of sorrow,’” it reported.

Her dedication to national service extended well beyond personal exchanges.

“In 2016, Asha Bhosle journeyed to Bomdila in Arunachal Pradesh, the site of one of India's most painful military histories, the 1962 battlefield. She participated in a government initiative launched by Prime Minister Modi to connect civilians with soldiers stationed in the country’s most challenging locations. She tied rakhis to the soldiers one by one, returning home deeply moved,” noted the post, referring to the legacy of the Sino-Indian War.
