Guwahati, June 16 (NationPress) Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized the state's unwavering commitment to the welfare of all tribal communities, focusing on their development while preserving their heritage and ensuring their constitutional rights.

During a recent event, the Chief Minister outlined the primary goal of the Dharti Aba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA), launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The initiative aims to fill crucial gaps in social infrastructure, healthcare, education, and livelihoods through 25 targeted interventions by various ministries.

Chief Minister Sarma inaugurated the DAJGUA program in Dibrugarh earlier today.

The initiative focuses on promoting convergence and extending outreach to ensure the comprehensive development of tribal communities, Sarma stated.

He further explained that the scheme's key objectives include bridging significant gaps in social development, providing access to quality education and healthcare.

To realize these objectives, activities will continue under this mission until June 30, he mentioned.

This year marks the launch of a special initiative named 'Dharti Aaba Abhiyan', which will encompass 6,000 tribal villages in the state, with ongoing development programs planned over the next five years, he asserted.

The mission will integrate services such as AADHAR cards, ration cards, Ayushman Bharat Cards, caste certificates, domicile certificates, Kisan Credit cards, PM Kisan Scheme, Jan Dhan Accounts, and PM Jivan Jyoti Bima Yojana, among others.

Sarma noted that the mission will pay special attention to tribal majority and aspirational blocks.

He assured that the government departments will take special care to ensure that no deserving tribal individual misses out on the benefits of government schemes.
