Did Netanyahu Accuse Iran of Plotting Trump’s Assassination?

Tel Aviv, June 16 (NationPress) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has asserted that Iran has aimed to assassinate US President Donald Trump due to his staunch opposition to its nuclear aspirations. Speaking to Fox News on Sunday, Netanyahu labeled Trump as Tehran's "number one enemy" and accused Iran of actively scheming for his elimination.

"They want to kill him. He's enemy number one," Netanyahu declared.

"He's a decisive leader who has not sought weak negotiations like others, providing them with a means to enrich uranium, effectively paving their way to a bomb and showering them with billions of dollars."

Netanyahu commended Trump's actions regarding Iran, noting pivotal decisions such as the withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal and the elimination of top Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani.

"He rejected this deceitful agreement and effectively dismantled it. He eliminated Qasem Soleimani. He made it abundantly clear that Iran cannot possess a nuclear weapon or enrich uranium. He has been remarkably firm, thus, for them, he is enemy number one," the Israeli Prime Minister stated.

He also disclosed that he himself has been a target of Iranian hostility. "They launched a missile directly into the bedroom window of my house," Netanyahu recounted, alleging that the strike was part of Tehran's broader agenda against leaders challenging its nuclear program.

Netanyahu characterized himself as Trump's "junior partner" in efforts to thwart Iran from acquiring nuclear arms.

Netanyahu raised alarms about an "imminent threat" from Iran, necessitating urgent military responses. "We are confronted with an imminent dual existential threat," he stated.

"First, the concern of Iran rapidly weaponizing their enriched uranium to develop atomic bombs with a specific agenda to obliterate us. Second, an accelerated increase in their ballistic missile stockpile to a rate of 3,600 weapons annually. Within three years, they could amass 10,000 ballistic missiles, each weighing a ton and striking our cities at Mach 6, as demonstrated today... and eventually reaching 20,000 missiles in 26 years. No nation can endure that, especially not a country the size of Israel, so action was imperative," he articulated.

Netanyahu reiterated that Israel's military endeavors are not solely for its own survival but also to safeguard global security. He asserted that diplomacy with Iran has failed, leaving Israel with no alternatives.

In response, Iran initiated a significant ballistic missile offensive against Israeli cities, although many missiles were intercepted before causing damage.

He stated that the latest Israeli military operations, termed Operation Rising Lion, have considerably hindered Iran's nuclear advancements.

"We have significantly delayed the Iranian nuclear program," Netanyahu claimed. "Negotiations with the terrorist-sponsoring regime are evidently futile."

He underscored Israel's readiness to undertake further actions to eliminate the threats posed by Iran's nuclear and missile programs. Netanyahu portrayed Operation Rising Lion as "one of the greatest military operations in history."

In a message directed at the Iranian populace, Netanyahu expressed compassion for those living under the current regime. "You have suffered oppression for 50 years under the same Islamic regime that has persistently threatened the existence of the State of Israel," he remarked, citing the regime's aggressive stance as a rationale for Israel's actions.
