Atishi and Manish Sisodia Rally Supporters in Delhi: Kejriwal's Legacy Shines

New Delhi, Jan 13 (NationPress) Delhi's Chief Minister Atishi and ex-Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia embarked on a roadshow on Monday, gearing up for the approaching Assembly elections in the capital city. They expressed strong confidence in the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) prospects for victory.

Atishi is preparing to submit her nomination for the Kalkaji Assembly constituency, while Sisodia aims to contest from the Jangpura seat.

During this roadshow, which took place just before Atishi's nomination, both leaders directed pointed criticisms at the opposing parties, BJP and Congress.

Atishi remarked, "Arvind Kejriwal has won the hearts of Delhi's residents. Voters will support us based on our accomplishments over the last five years."

In her critique of the opposition, she stated, "They know nothing but to insult us. Can they name a single initiative they have undertaken for the benefit of Delhi's citizens?"

Speaking to IANS, Sisodia emphasized the significant public backing for AAP.

"This time, Delhi will cast their votes based on the developmental initiatives executed by Arvind Kejriwal. He is a leader dedicated to the public and opposes those who impede our progress. Kejriwal leads a team that is resilient and united," he commented.

Targeting the BJP, he noted, "They are only capable of insults. Our achievements are visible -- in schools, hospitals, and infrastructure. The BJP was responsible for law and order in Delhi, and they have failed even in that regard."

The roadshow featured a vehicle decorated with flowers and AAP posters, playing the campaign anthem, 'Phir Layenge Kejriwal'.

Prior to the event, Atishi visited the Kalkaji Temple and Giri Nagar Gurudwara to seek blessings.

To bolster her campaign, Atishi initiated a crowdfunding effort on Sunday, emphasizing AAP's dedication to "politics of work and integrity".

She shared a link for online donations, revealing her campaign aims to raise Rs 40 lakh.

"AAP has consistently depended on small donations from ordinary citizens to conduct elections, enabling us to pursue transparent and honest politics," she noted.

"Over the past five years, you have supported me as an MLA, a minister, and now as the Chief Minister of Delhi. This journey would not have been feasible without your steadfast blessings and trust," she further added.

In the Kalkaji constituency, Atishi will face competition from BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri and Congress' Alka Lamba.

The entire Delhi Assembly with 70 seats will hold elections on February 5, followed by vote counting on February 8.

AAP, which won 67 seats in 2015 and maintained a stronghold with 62 seats in 2020, is aiming for a third consecutive term.

The BJP, which secured only three seats in 2015 and eight in 2020, is striving to broaden its presence. Meanwhile, Congress, which has been unsuccessful in the last two elections, is working to reclaim its significance in the Assembly.
