Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh), March 18 (NationPress) — Extensive preparations are underway for President Droupadi Murmu's visit to Ayodhya on March 19. The roadway leading to the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple has been decorated with vibrant saffron flags and decorative banners. Workers have been actively installing displays throughout the city, showcasing images of President Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Discussing the preparations and security protocols, Ayodhya's District Magistrate (DM) Nikhil Tikaram Funde stated to IANS, "We are dedicated to ensuring a seamless experience for all attendees."
He further noted that 'VIP darshan' will be suspended that day, but the general public will be allowed access to the temple outside the timeframe of the President's visit.
SSP Ayodhya, Gaurav Grover, mentioned, "Today, we received detailed briefings about the security measures and our roles during President Murmu's visit. Every aspect, from her arrival at the airport to her route to the venue, has been meticulously planned."
He emphasized, "We will also ensure that the general public attending for 'darshan' will not face any inconveniences."
President Murmu is set to engage in a number of religious ceremonies at the Ram Mandir Ayodhya, including the installation of the Ram Yantra on the temple's second floor and participating in Vedic rituals as part of special festivities celebrating the Hindu New Year.
During her stay, the President will install the Shri Ram Yantra and the Shri Ram Naam temple on the second level of the temple complex and will partake in Vedic prayers commencing around 9 AM. The rituals will be conducted by 51 Vedic scholars from southern India, Kashi, and Ayodhya, under the guidance of priest Ganeshwar Shastri.
Additionally, President Murmu will acknowledge nearly 400 laborers who played a vital role in the temple's construction and will raise a flag at one of the temples situated within the outer precinct, known as the parkota. The President's convoy is expected to arrive at the temple complex by around 11 AM and will remain for approximately four hours.
The event will attract a variety of religious and community leaders, including spiritual figures. Approximately 5,000 special guests have been invited, and thorough arrangements are being put in place for security, seating, transportation, and lodging.
Officials indicated that the temple trust also plans to enhance access to additional shrines within the complex for devotees following the President's program. Under the proposed system, roughly 5,000 devotees will be permitted daily to visit temples within the parkota area via a pass-based system.
Meanwhile, the influx of devotees to Ayodhya remains on the rise, with around 1,500 pilgrims from Punjab arriving in the city via a special train on Saturday to pay their respects to Ram Lalla.
