Key Takeaways
Ayodhya, Jan 30 (NationPress) The Chairman of the Shri Ram Temple Construction Committee, Nripendra Mishra, announced on Friday that the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, is expected to visit Ayodhya in March to pay her respects and seek darshan of Lord Ram. Although there has been no official confirmation, Mishra suggested that the President has informally indicated her willingness to make the trip.
Mishra elaborated that members of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust had recently met with the President, extending a formal invitation for her visit to Ayodhya.
“The trust members invited the President to experience the darshan of the Lord. We are optimistic that she will find a suitable date in her calendar, likely in March. While we await formal communication, we have learned informally that she is agreeable to the visit,” he stated.
Additionally, Mishra provided insights into significant heritage manuscripts related to the Ramayana that will be part of the temple complex. The Kendriya Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya has graciously donated a rare 400-year-old manuscript featuring Valmiki’s insights, inscribed in ancient Sanskrit. This manuscript was previously on loan to the Rashtrapati Bhavan Museum. However, upon learning that a dedicated area for Ramayana literature would be established on the second floor of the Ayodhya temple, the university opted to donate the manuscript permanently to the trust.
The trust aims to conserve and promote ancient Ramayana texts and Valmiki translations in various Indian languages within the temple complex, establishing it as a vital center for cultural and religious heritage.
The consecration ceremony, or prana pratishtha, of the Ram Temple took place on January 22, 2024, attended by approximately 7,000 guests, including spiritual leaders, eminent business figures, athletes, and film celebrities. Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over the event, garnering extensive national and international attention.
Following the inauguration, the temple saw a historic surge in visitors. The day after the consecration, around 300,000 devotees came to witness the newly installed idol of Ram Lalla, representing the youthful form of Lord Ram, while an equal number awaited outside for their turn.
