What Do Ayodhya Seers Think About Maulana Madani’s Comments?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 19 (NationPress) Spiritual leaders in Ayodhya have vehemently denounced the recent statements made by Maulana Arshad Madani, the chief of Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind, in response to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's remarks about enhancing efforts for the “ghar wapsi” of those who desire it. They labeled Madani's comments as politically charged and demanded action against remarks that may disrupt social harmony.
Mahant Deveshacharya Maharaj of Siddh Peeth Hanumangarhi commented that Madani's video posted on the social media platform 'X' showcased a “foolish act.”
He clarified that Bhagwat's statements did not target any individual or coerce anyone, but simply welcomed those who wish to “return home.”
“If someone wishes to come back, what is the issue?” the seer questioned, asserting that the controversy was politically motivated.
He described the remarks as “deeply unfortunate and condemnable” and called on the Government of India to take stringent measures against those who incite unrest.
Mahant Sitaram Das Maharaj of Saket Bhawan Temple also condemned Madani’s statement, labeling it as “highly condemnable” and indicative of a misguided perspective.
Mahant Sitaram further asserted that Bhagwat’s comments enjoy widespread support across the nation, alleging that many Muslims appreciated his views, while only a negligible faction of hardliners felt offended.
Meanwhile, Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya, a notable seer in Ayodhya, made pointed remarks recalling instances of historical communal violence, suggesting that Hindus had faced violence in the past. He also claimed that during those times, inflammatory messages had emanated from places of worship.
Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya criticized Madani, claiming that his ideology was becoming less relevant and that society should reject divisive thoughts to safeguard humanity.
The remarks arrive amid a heated discourse sparked by Madani’s comments, which have elicited strong reactions from various factions.
In a post on ‘X’, Madani accused Bhagwat of fostering an atmosphere of hatred in the country, stating, “Such thinking contradicts the Constitution and social harmony.” He added, “Statements that were not made in 70 years are being voiced now, including the notion of homecoming for 20 crore Muslims.”
Recently, RSS chief Bhagwat underscored the necessity of a well-organized and empowered Hindu society at a social harmony meeting in Lucknow. He advocated that Hindus should aim for at least three children, warning that societies with fewer than three children on average may face extinction. Concerns were expressed regarding issues like the declining Hindu population, conversions, and infiltration, alongside calls to ramp up efforts for “ghar wapsi.”
