New Delhi, Sep 23 (NationPress) The Ayushman Bharat initiative has evolved from a mere commitment into a robust people's movement for achieving universal health coverage, stated Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the flagship health insurance program marks its seventh anniversary this Tuesday.

The AB PM-JAY covers health expenses of up to Rs. 5 lakh per family annually for secondary and tertiary care hospitalizations, benefiting around 55 crore individuals. This includes 12.37 crore families, representing the economically disadvantaged 40 percent of India's population.
