An elderly resident, Rasila from Mehuwala Mafi in Dehradun, recently recounted her recovery journey, made possible through government aid.
Rasila, who is a heart patient, underwent surgery not long ago.
According to her daughter-in-law, the Ayushman card also facilitated treatment for her son.
Sajida, the daughter-in-law, shared, “My mother-in-law was extremely unwell and unaware of her heart condition. Thanks to the Ayushman Card scheme, we discovered her heart issues during her hospitalization. Initially, treatment costs were projected to be two to three lakh rupees.”
She further explained that they learned about the benefits available to patients through the Ayushman card.
“Once we obtained the card, we reached out to the hospital, allowing for my mother-in-law's treatment. This card has enabled us to access free treatment worth up to Rs. 1.5 lakh,” she mentioned.
Sajida emphasized that many impoverished individuals lack the funds for serious medical treatments. It’s crucial for those in need to leverage this program, which offers treatment coverage up to Rs. 5 lakhs.
She also noted that without the scheme's benefits, their family could not have afforded the necessary medical care.
“The Ayushman card has been a tremendous blessing for us. I express my gratitude to Modi ji for creating this initiative for the nation's underprivileged,” she expressed.
“It was solely because of this card that my mother-in-law's life was saved,” she added.
Moreover, she mentioned that her son, who had kidney stones, received treatment thanks to this card.
Rasila confirmed that her heart surgery was only feasible due to the Ayushman card.
