Kolkata, Feb 11 (NationPress) The construction of the Babri Mosque in Beldanga, located in the minority-dominated Murshidabad district of West Bengal, initiated by the controversial and currently suspended Trinamool Congress legislator Humayun Kabir, is set to begin today.
The construction will kick off with the recitation of the Quran Sharif later today. The specific timing for the commencement has yet to be officially confirmed by Kabir, although a close associate indicated that the event is expected to start between 12 noon and 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
Following this, a 'Babri Yatra' (Rally for Babri Mosque) will commence on Thursday. The rally will begin from Palashi in Nadia district with 100 vehicles, each carrying six individuals, including the driver, resulting in a total participation of 600 people.
The rally is set to traverse a distance of 265 kilometres from Palashi to Itahar in North Dinajpur district.
Kabir expressed that the rally is necessary to combat misinformation circulated by vested interests regarding the construction of the Babri Masjid at Beldanga, aiming to enlighten the public about this project.
Kabir stated that the construction is projected to be completed within three years, with an estimated cost of around Rs 55 crore. The mosque's gate will stand at a height of 14 metres and a width of 5 metres, with the gate's construction alone estimated to cost Rs 5 crore.
