Patna, Sep 22 (NationPress) A microfinance manager from Axis Bank was tragically shot dead by unknown assailants in the Vaishali district of Bihar on Monday.
The incident took place close to Kanchanapur village, under the jurisdiction of the Bidupur police station.
The victim, Rakesh Kumar, who lived in Sahebganj, Muzaffarpur, had been employed at the bank’s Kanchanapur branch since February of this year.
According to authorities, Rakesh was returning on his motorcycle after approving a loan when he was ambushed by three unidentified individuals waiting in the vicinity.
He succumbed to his injuries immediately, having suffered a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
Sadar SDPO Subodh Kumar promptly arrived at the scene with his team and arranged for the body to be sent to Hajipur Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.
A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) also conducted a thorough examination of the crime site.
“We have recovered a spent bullet from the location. The district's borders are being secured, and thorough vehicle inspections are being conducted to prevent the suspects from fleeing. We will apprehend the perpetrators shortly,” stated SDPO Subodh Kumar.

“What’s happening here? People are being murdered in broad daylight. The criminals act without fear; this is why such violence occurs,” expressed a local resident.

Furthermore, we are analyzing the deceased’s phone records to uncover potential clues about the motive. The police will also gather statements from Rakesh's colleagues at work.
