Kolkata, April 8 (NationPress) A heated political confrontation unfolded in West Bengal on Wednesday after the Election Commission of India (ECI) issued a statement that took a direct stance against the Trinamool Congress. The Commission emphasized the party's obligation to guarantee that the forthcoming two-phase Assembly elections in the state are conducted in an environment devoid of fear, violence, intimidation, and coercion.
On the same day, a delegation from the Trinamool Congress visited the ECI’s office in New Delhi to voice their concerns regarding the significant removal of voters' names during the recent judicial review process.
Following this meeting, the ECI released a statement in both Hindi and English, titled -- “ECI's Direct Address to Trinamool Congress,” which was shared on the Commission’s social media platforms.
