The Anti-Narcotics team detained one suspect from Kerala, recovering 3.5 kilograms of hydroponic ganja, Rs 26 lakh in cash, and a mobile device. Authorities reported that the total estimated worth of the seized drugs and materials amounts to Rs 4.52 crore.
The individual, originally from Kerala, had sourced the hydroponic ganja locally and was endeavoring to distribute it in Bengaluru.
In another case, a foreign national was taken into custody, with the police seizing one kilogram of MDMA crystals, along with a mobile phone and a two-wheeler, collectively valued at Rs 2 crore.
Initial investigations revealed that the accused, who entered India on a business visa in 2012, had been procuring MDMA crystals at a discounted price from a contact in Bengaluru. He is alleged to have targeted college students and professionals in the city’s IT and BT sectors, selling the narcotics for up to Rs 20,000 per gram.
In a separate incident, a police operation led to the arrest of eight individuals from Kerala connected to a drug case. Authorities confiscated 110 grams of MDMA, 10 mobile phones, and a tablet.
Police had gathered intelligence regarding the eight drug peddlers from Kerala. Based on credible information, they learned that drugs were being sold from a lodge located in Attur Layout, Yelahanka New Town.
Following this lead, a raid was conducted, resulting in the arrest of the eight individuals. The accused, originally hailing from Kerala, had come to Bengaluru for employment, as per police reports.
To support a lavish lifestyle, they engaged in drug peddling, selling to college students and IT/BT workers. MDMA tablets were reportedly sold for Rs 15,000 to Rs 25,000 each, according to law enforcement.
Currently, the suspects are in custody and undergoing thorough interrogation.
