New Delhi, June 6 (NationPress) In light of the tragic stampede in Bengaluru, BJP leader Amit Malviya has vehemently criticized the Congress-led government under Siddaramaiah, claiming it is jeopardizing the city's esteemed global image.
"Awaken, Bengaluru. Act before it's too late. The Congress is on a path to destroy everything we have achieved - the city's reputation, dignity, and its hard-earned global standing," Malviya expressed on X.
As the head of the BJP's National Information and Technology Department, he also condemned the Karnataka government's failure in managing the situation that led to the calamity near Chinnaswamy Stadium, which resulted in 11 fatalities.
Malviya held Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and his deputy D. K. Shivakumar accountable for the incident, stating, "Let it be stated unequivocally: Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar have blood on their hands."
He criticized the Congress government's attempts to deflect responsibility onto the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) cricket team managers.
"Rather than accepting accountability, the government is now targeting RCB officials, making them scapegoats, as they cannot resist the state's power. This is not justice; it's a cover-up. A nefarious tactic to protect those who are genuinely culpable," Malviya posted on X.
"What is truly alarming is the indifference of Karnataka's leadership. While young lives were lost, including a teenage girl who suffocated after a head injury, CM Siddaramaiah and DCM DK Shivakumar continued to enjoy the celebrations. The event was not interrupted. The music continued. The cameras remained focused," he remarked.
Malviya criticized the CM and the government for what he termed as an insensitive response.
"It is unbelievable that the Congress's senior leadership was oblivious to the chaos and tragedy unfolding right outside Chinnaswamy stadium. This wasn't merely an accident - it was the direct result of criminal mismanagement, inadequate crowd control, and a complete lack of accountability," his post read.
Earlier on Friday, Bengaluru police escalated their search for four additional suspects linked to the stampede that occurred on June 4, with four individuals already arrested, including the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Marketing Head and staff from DNA Event Management Company.
