Bengaluru Tragedy: Parents Take Lives After Killing Their Two Young Children

Bengaluru, Jan 6 (NationPress) A heartbreaking case involving a software engineer and his spouse taking their own lives after the tragic deaths of their two toddlers was reported on Monday.
This shocking event occurred within the jurisdiction of the Sadashivanagar police station in Bengaluru.
The individuals involved have been identified as Anoop, a 38-year-old software engineer from Uttar Pradesh, and his 35-year-old wife Raakhi, along with their children, Anupriya aged five and Priyansh aged two.
The domestic aide informed law enforcement that the couple was deeply troubled due to their eldest child's special needs.
According to police reports, Anoop was employed as a software consultant at a private firm.
The maid reported that everything appeared normal until Saturday night, when the couple seemed content.
The tragic murder-suicide was discovered when the domestic help arrived on Monday morning and received no answer from the family.
Authorities suspect that the couple, overwhelmed by the challenges of Anupriya’s condition, made the devastating choice to end their lives after taking those of their children.
The children were first poisoned through their food before Anoop and Raakhi hanged themselves in their home.
The family employed three maids, and Anoop had requested their early arrival on Monday for a planned trip to Pondicherry.
Police indicated that the packing had been completed by the staff on the preceding Sunday.
Two of the helpers were responsible for cooking, while one was tasked with caring for the children.
Each maid earned a monthly salary of Rs 15,000, indicating the family was financially stable.
Nevertheless, the Sadashivanagar police are investigating all possible factors, including whether the family faced any financial troubles.
On August 3, 2023, a similarly disturbing incident occurred when a 31-year-old software engineer took his life after harming his wife and two daughters in the Kadugodi police station area of Bengaluru.
The techie was identified as Veerarjuna Vijay from Andhra Pradesh. He had killed his wife Hemavathi, 29, and their two infant daughters aged 18 months and 8 months.
Authorities discovered this case when neighbors alerted them to a foul odor coming from the family's apartment.
In another incident, a 24-year-old tech professional, working for a well-known IT firm, committed suicide by inhaling helium gas in a Bengaluru hotel on August 20, 2024.
