Bengaluru, July 26 (NationPress) In a profoundly disturbing event that has left the city in disbelief, a man in Bengaluru's Anekal Taluk viciously assaulted his three young nephews using an iron rod, resulting in the tragic deaths of two children on the spot and leaving the third in critical condition at a local hospital.
This shocking incident took place in the Kamasandra neighborhood and has been officially reported to the Hebbagodi police station.
The perpetrator, known as Qasim, reportedly attacked the children—aged 9, 7, and 5—using a rod and a chisel while they were unsupervised at home. The victims, Ishaq (9) and Junaid (7), tragically succumbed to their injuries, while Mohammed Roshan (5) is currently fighting for his life in critical care.
As per police reports, this appalling act occurred between 1:15 and 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. At that time, the children's parents were away working— the father, Chand Pasha, a construction worker, and the mother, employed in the garment industry. Their grandmother, who typically cared for the children, had briefly left the house to purchase milk and vegetables.
Seizing the moment, Qasim, who resided with the family but was unemployed, allegedly unleashed the attack in a fit of rage. He was apprehended shortly after the horrific event and is now under police interrogation. During questioning, he cited multiple grievances, including feelings of neglect from family members.
Joint Commissioner of Police, Ramesh Bhanot, stated: “Today, within the jurisdiction of Hebbagodi Police Station, Chand Pasha, originally from Yadgir, moved to Bengaluru five years ago. He lived with his wife, three sons, and mother. His brother, Qasim, also resided with them but did not have steady employment.
Between 1:15 and 1:30 p.m., while the family members were working and the grandmother had stepped out, Qasim attacked the children with a rod and a chisel. Two of the children died instantly, while the third is in critical condition at the hospital.
We have taken the accused into custody and are investigating further. He has been offering inconsistent explanations, including claims of being mistreated by the family. We are also evaluating his mental health as part of our inquiry.”
The family hails from Yadgir district in Karnataka and relocated to Bengaluru for employment opportunities. They live in modest circumstances, with both parents working hard to support their household. The accused reportedly lacked stable employment and had previously shown signs of psychological distress, according to family members.
