Bhopal Tragedy: ASI Allegedly Murders Wife and Sister-in-Law

Bhopal, Dec 3 (NationPress) In a disturbing event, an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) allegedly murdered his wife and sister-in-law in Bhopal on Tuesday, police reported.

The suspect has been named as Yogesh Maravi, an ASI stationed in Mandla district.

The horrifying incident came to light when the house help arrived in the morning and heard screams emanating from inside the residence.

The domestic worker began banging on the door in fear and alerted nearby residents. Meanwhile, Maravi managed to escape the scene, police stated.

This tragic event took place in an area overseen by the Aishbagh police station, where the victims were living in a rented house.

Authorities discovered the bodies in a pool of blood across various rooms, each with several stab wounds.

Police confirmed that a case has been filed and a manhunt for Maravi has commenced.

Teams from the Mandla district have been dispatched to apprehend him.

"Upon receiving the alert, a police unit rushed to the scene and located the deceased women lying in a pool of blood with numerous stab injuries. It appears that the suspect used a sharp knife for the attack," stated DCP Priyanka Shukla.

The victims were identified as Vineeta Maravi and her younger sister Deepika. Authorities noted that Maravi had been living separately for the past five years. His wife was residing with her sister in the Aishbagh area of Bhopal.

The forensic team was dispatched to collect evidence for further investigation.

Police believe that a property dispute between the Maravi couple may have triggered the heinous act.

However, DCP Shukla emphasized that the investigation is ongoing.

"CCTV footage is currently under review, and efforts are being made to trace his mobile phone for location details," added DCP Shukla.
