Bihar BJP Chief States Central Leadership Will Determine CM Candidate for 2025 Elections

Patna, Dec 21 (NationPress) Bihar BJP President Dilip Jaiswal stated on Saturday that the central leadership of the party will make the decision regarding the Chief Ministerial candidate for the 2025 Assembly elections.
"We are smaller stature leaders who would not decide on it," Jaiswal mentioned while he and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha were en route to Delhi for a significant meeting with the BJP's central leadership.
The discussions taking place in Delhi are expected to focus on the current political landscape in the state, organizational issues, and strategic plans for the upcoming elections.
Jaiswal made it clear that the meetings held, including one with the NDA state presidents in Patna on Friday evening, did not revolve around any particular Chief Ministerial candidate.
"The discussions in the meeting centered on the NDA grassroots initiatives, such as organizing a workers' conference in each district starting in Bagaha from January 15, rather than leadership selection," Jaiswal explained.
Jaiswal highlighted the collaborative nature of the discussions, which included the presidents of all five constituent parties of the NDA in the state.
The state presidents of all NDA constituent parties convened for a high-level meeting at the residence of JD(U) state president Umesh Kushwaha.
During the meeting, Jaiswal, along with HAM (Secular) state president Anil Kumar, LJP(RV) state president Raju Tiwari, and RLSP representative Raju Tiwari, attended alongside notable leaders from JD-U including Lalan Kumar Sarraf, a legislative councilor and treasurer, and Sanjay Kumar Singh, popularly known as Gandhi Ji, a legislative councilor.
Additionally, Sanjay Kumar Jha, the Rajya Sabha MP of JD(U), reaffirmed that the 2025 Bihar Assembly election will be contested under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Nitish Kumar is expected to continue as Chief Minister post-2025, and the NDA plans to secure over 225 seats in the Assembly elections, Jha asserted.
