Patna, March 4 (NationPress) Dilip Jaiswal has been officially designated as the new leader of the BJP's Bihar unit during a state council assembly held at Bapu Auditorium in Patna on Tuesday.

The announcement was made by Union Energy Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, bolstering the party's leadership in anticipation of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025.

Dilip Jaiswal, hailing from Khagaria district in Bihar and part of the Kalwar caste, possesses multiple degrees including MSc, MBA, PhD, and Master of Philosophy.

He has been elected MLC three times from the Purnea, Araria, and Kishanganj constituencies, and has held the position of the BJP’s treasurer for two decades. He is regarded as closely allied with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Recently, Dilip Jaiswal stepped down from his role as Revenue & Land Reforms Minister of the Bihar government during the expansion of Nitish Kumar's cabinet. The BJP follows a principle of 'One Man One Post', which led to his resignation.

After his resignation, seven BJP leaders joined Nitish Kumar’s cabinet, a calculated strategy prior to the Bihar Assembly elections anticipated in October-November this year.

On Monday, he submitted his nomination for the state presidency, with endorsements from Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary, Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha, Minister Mangal Pandey, and Legislative Councillor Sanjay Mayukh. Importantly, no other candidates filed nominations, ensuring his appointment.

The BJP's state council meeting at Bapu Auditorium aimed to unify party leaders and strategize for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

During this assembly, key leaders such as Union Textile Ministers Giriraj Singh, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai, Bihar’s Deputy CMs Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, former Union Minister Radha Mohan Jha, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Bettiah Lok Sabha MP Sanjay Jaiswal, Bihar BJP in-charge Vinod Tawde, and Bihar Deputy state in-charge Deepak Prakash were in attendance.

In addition to these prominent figures, over 6,000 members, including divisional, district, sub-divisional, and block presidents along with state officials and working committee members, took part in the meeting.

With Jaiswal leading, the BJP aims to strengthen its organizational framework and ramp up its election efforts throughout Bihar.
