Patna, April 8 (NationPress) In a significant development, the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of the Bihar Police has apprehended Ravi Bhushan, the suspected leader of the Community Health Officer (CHO) examination fraud, along with his accomplice Shashi Ranjan, in the Patna district.

The arrests are linked to the July 2024 CHO recruitment examination, which publicized 4,500 vacancies under the Bihar State Health Society.

This examination was carried out at 12 online centers via the Computer-Based Test (CBT) format, overseen by We Shine Tech Pvt. Ltd.

However, the EOU's inquiry has uncovered a widespread scam involving remote access manipulation and proxy solvers.

As per an official statement, Ravi Bhushan and his associates collaborated with exam center operators and the private firm responsible for the CBT. They utilized proxy servers and remote access tools to take control of candidates' computers during the exam.

“Transactions ranging from Rs 4 to 5 lakh were negotiated with candidates. The solver network remotely accessed their computers and completed the tests,” noted an EOU official.

Bhushan, hailing from Mubarakpur village in Nalanda district, was taken into custody with Shashi Ranjan, alias Happy, who is from Besaur village under the Rahui police station, in Bhagwatpur of Patna.

The SIT also seized three mobile devices from their possession.

Investigations indicated that Ravi Bhushan had been supplying personnel to online examination centers since 2017, starting with Galaxy Online Centre in Patna.

He later broadened his operations to Delhi and Mumbai, founding M/s BRANCIZE Technology Pvt. Ltd., an examination conducting business registered with the Registrar of Companies in Mumbai.

The group, which included Bhushan's brothers, Avadh Bhushan and Bharat Bhushan, allegedly secured contracts to conduct exams for AIIMS Manglagiri (Andhra Pradesh) in December 2024.

However, this exam was delayed after the CHO paper leak came to light, implicating Ravi Bhushan in the Bihar scam.

To date, 40 individuals have been arrested in relation to the scam, with investigations ongoing.

The case has been filed as FIR No. 28/2024 at the EOU Police Station in Patna, with numerous other culprits and center operators under scrutiny.
