Patna, Jan 12 (NationPress) Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar officially opened a two-day state-level police conference at the Police Headquarters in Patna on Monday.
He was joined by Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Director General of Police Vinay Kumar, and several senior police officials from across the state.
Upon his arrival at the state-of-the-art Police Headquarters, Sardar Patel Bhawan, he was greeted with a ceremonial welcome.
The conference was inaugurated by lighting a lamp.
Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, who oversees the Home Department, is chairing this significant event.
A notable aspect of the conference is the extensive participation.
While senior officials, including the DGP, ADG, IG, and DIG, are present at the headquarters, SPs, DSPs, Inspectors, and Station House Officers (SHOs) from all districts are engaging through video conferencing.
This marks the first occasion where officers from every tier of the Bihar Police — from senior leadership to frontline SHOs — are interacting on such a grand scale with the Chief Minister and Home Minister.
The conference spans from January 12 to 13.
Discussions during the conference will focus on crucial topics such as innovative strategies to combat rising crime rates in the state, the modernization of the police force to address cyber and digital offenses, enhanced utilization of software and hardware in policing, and the reinforcement of collaboration and trust between the police and the community.
