Patna, Feb 20 (NationPress) Krishna Allavaru, the newly appointed Bihar Congress in-charge, addressed party workers for the first time here on Thursday after taking on his new responsibilities, emphasizing the "victory mantra" designed to rejuvenate the grand old party's stature in the eastern state.
Allavaru shared insights from his own journey, noting that no one in his family was involved in politics.
“I was appointed as in-charge of Punjab in 2015, and I canvassed door to door, persevering through challenges. This was meant to motivate party workers to remain dedicated and resilient, even in a challenging political environment. I focused on grassroots initiatives, contributing to Congress’ success in the state elections,” Allavaru stated.
He mentioned, "Later, I was assigned to Gujarat, where I spent 10 months. The Congress, however, narrowly missed forming the government."
Despite the party's absence from power for several decades, he reassured workers that "the flag of Congress still flies high in Bihar".
"I want to convey to Congress workers that commitment and solidarity can help restore the party's influence in the state,” he added.
Allavaru has formulated a clear and assertive strategy for revitalizing the party in the region.
While addressing workers at Sadaqat Ashram, he highlighted the necessity of grassroots initiatives, internal cohesion, and strategic fieldwork ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections.
Allavaru made it clear that only those who are diligent on the ground would receive organizational roles and election nominations.
He underscored that Rahul Gandhi has also advocated for addressing organizational flaws and fortifying the party internally.
"The party’s future will not be determined in Sadaqat Ashram (Bihar Congress HQ) but in the field. I urged workers to engage with villages, panchayats, and wards instead of squandering time in Delhi or Patna,” Allavaru stated.
He declared that he would personally tour Bihar extensively to mobilize party workers. He called for unity among Congress members, stating that internal disputes would not be tolerated.
"If any factionalism crosses the 'Laxman Rekha' (limits), those accountable will be expelled from the party. No opposition party possesses the strength to defeat Congress. Only Congress can defeat Congress," he asserted.
He emphasized that securing victory in Bihar is essential and that no leader can win elections independently. It must be a collaborative effort. He stressed that voters hold the true power, and Congress must connect with them directly.
The Congress in Bihar has been striving to reclaim political traction, particularly with regional parties like RJD and JD-U dominating the political scene in the state.
