Patna, April 8 (NationPress) Upendra Kushwaha, President of Rashtriya Lok Morcha and Rajya Sabha MP, sharply criticized the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Tuesday. He questioned Gandhi's commitments to creating job opportunities in Bihar and accused him of engaging in political theatrics as the Assembly elections approach.
At a media briefing at Patna Airport, Kushwaha remarked, “If Rahul Gandhi is genuinely concerned about providing jobs in Bihar, why not start by creating employment in the states where the Congress holds power? He should focus on delivering instead of misleading the populace here.”
Kushwaha asserted that the Congress party only remembers jobs during election time and fails to fulfill its promises while in power.
“Post-Independence, the Congress led the country for 60 years. Subsequently, they were in power in Bihar for 15 years in alliance with the RJD. The harm they caused during that period is well-known,” Kushwaha stated.
He expressed confidence that regardless of the Congress and the opposition's actions, the NDA will regain power in Bihar.
Regarding the internal conflict within the party's state office at Sadaqat Ashram during Rahul Gandhi's visit, Kushwaha commented, “This highlights the Congress's internal discord. If their leaders can’t cooperate with each other, how are they expected to govern a state?”
He dismissed Gandhi’s symbolic 30-minute ‘Palayan Roko, Naukri Do’ padyatra in Begusarai as insignificant, adding, “Whether it lasts for 30 minutes or 300, it will not change anything. The people of Bihar are well aware. His yatra is merely a spectacle, with no impact on voters.”
During his one-day visit to Patna on Monday, LoP Gandhi participated in the 30-minute ‘Palayan Roko, Naukri Do’ padyatra in Begusarai, addressed a gathering at the Samvidhan Sanrakshan event at Sri Krishna Memorial Hall, and held a meeting with party workers at the state headquarters, Sadaqat Ashram.
This visit was part of the preparations for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections scheduled for October and November this year.
