Mumbai, April 18 (NationPress) Bihar's Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha vehemently criticized West Bengal's Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Friday, labeling her “Krurta Banerjee” (Cruel Banerjee) in light of the recent violence in Murshidabad.
In a statement to IANS, Sinha remarked, “Mamata Banerjee has transformed into 'Krurta Banerjee'. Her cruelty appears to be aimed at dismantling Indian culture. In her quest for power, she has forsaken cultural values, which is detrimental to the nation. West Bengal is a vital part of India, a state we take pride in, but Mamata Banerjee is damaging its reputation.”
Sinha also commented on the Dawoodi Bohra community's meeting with PM Modi to express their appreciation for the Waqf (Amendment) Act. He stated, “The decision made by PM Modi serves the nation's interests, benefiting marginalized Muslims and the underprivileged. It aims to combat land mafias. Every Indian aspiring for a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India) should endorse this vision. Those attempting to communalize the issue are not true well-wishers of the nation.”
The Deputy CM of Bihar also called for strict actions against public officials, referencing Jharkhand’s Minority Welfare Minister for prioritizing 'sharia' over the law.
“Action is essential against individuals with extremist ideologies in positions of power. This mindset warrants national scrutiny. Making anti-constitutional remarks while in power, after pledging allegiance to the Constitution, is intolerable. Such individuals are unfit for public office,” he added.
Recently, Hafizul Hasan, Jharkhand’s Minority Welfare Minister, sparked controversy with his statement, “For me, Sharia is greater. We carry the Quran in our hearts and the Constitution in our hands. So we will first hold on to Shariah, then the Constitution.”
When discussing the leadership for the forthcoming Bihar elections, Sinha affirmed, “Our senior leaders have made it clear that the election campaign in Bihar will be led by the faces of PM Modi and CM Nitish Kumar.”
Furthermore, he took a swipe at RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, who had claimed that “jungle raj” prevails in Bihar.
“Tejashwi Yadav, who emerged from jungle raj, should announce that no criminal or corrupt individual will receive a party ticket. I openly challenged him. The BJP is prepared to take a bold step. Yet, he cannot make such a declaration because he harbors criminals, corrupt people, and extremists. Individuals like him are merely shedding crocodile tears,” he concluded.
