Patna, Oct 20 (NationPress) As the political climate heats up in anticipation of the Bihar Assembly elections, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha and Union Minister Nityanand Rai have vehemently criticized the Grand Alliance (Mahagathbandhan), casting doubts on its integrity and commitment to Bihar's progress.
In an interview with IANS, Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha, the BJP candidate for Lakhisarai, asserted that the coalition is devoid of sincerity and direction.
“Their intentions are ambiguous, which leads to discord among them. They are a deceptive alliance, and we have no interest in engaging with them,” Sinha remarked.
He further stated, “To be a defender of democracy, one’s inner motives must be genuine, reflecting a spirit of service and overall development. Clear intentions lead to success. Their unclear motives are causing their alliance to disintegrate.”
Union Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai, echoed these sentiments, labeling the RJD-Congress-Left coalition as an arrogant entity motivated solely by self-interest and dynastic politics.
“This coalition is focused not on Bihar’s advancement but on personal benefit. It represents a struggle of self-interest among leaders who are indifferent to the state's development,” Rai stated during a media interaction in Patna.
He accused the RJD and Congress of fostering nepotism and asserted that corruption and criminal favoritism are ingrained in their political ethos.
“Where self-interest prevails, development is sidelined — along with Bihar’s future,” he cautioned.
Rai emphasized that the citizens of Bihar have complete faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and the NDA's development framework.
“The NDA government under Nitish Kumar has ushered in development to every household. The people of Bihar aspire for a bright future for their children, firmly supporting the NDA,” Rai confidently added, predicting a significant electoral victory for the alliance.
