Patna, Dec 25 (NationPress) In the wake of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, discontent has erupted within the Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM), as eight influential leaders have stepped down from their positions, accusing the party's chief Upendra Kushwaha of endorsing dynastic politics.

Among those who left are Anant Kumar Gupta, the State President of the RLM Business Cell, along with other senior officials and district-level representatives.

This internal revolt follows RLM's acquisition of just four seats in the recent Assembly elections.

As a result of the party's performance, Snehlata Kushwaha, Upendra Kushwaha’s wife, was elected as an MLA, while his son received a ministerial post in the state cabinet.

This situation has ignited frustration among senior leaders, who claim that a party initially established to combat dynastic politics has now adopted the same practices it once condemned.

On Thursday, the leaders of the RLM business cell collectively submitted their resignations, marking a significant setback for the party's leadership.

The resigning leaders include Anant Kumar Gupta, State President of the Business Cell; Umesh Prasad, Senior State Vice President; Shivchandra Prasad, Vice President; Mohanlal, Vice President; Ajay Kumar Bittu, Media In-charge and Spokesperson; Gopal Ji Prasad, General Secretary; Basukinath Gupta, District President of Gopalganj; and Shashi Kishore Sah, District President of Patna East.

After resigning, Anant Kumar Gupta expressed, “The state committee was dissolved just a week ago. The ideology that drew us to this party has vanished. It is now impossible to stay in the party without compromising our self-respect.”

Senior leader Shivchandra Prasad directly criticized Upendra Kushwaha, stating, “The party has succumbed to dynastic politics, similar to the RJD.”

Reportedly, three RLM MLAs are also dissatisfied with Upendra Kushwaha.

Notably, these MLAs were absent from the ‘Litti party’ hosted by Kushwaha, an absence interpreted as a sign of internal dissent.

Moreover, Upendra Kushwaha's recent meeting with BJP working president Nitin Nabin has fueled speculation that the discontented MLAs might split from the Rashtriya Lok Morcha.

The resignations and the ensuing internal conflict have cast serious doubts on the future stability of the RLM, particularly as coalition politics in Bihar remain dynamic and competitive.
