Patna, Jan 25 (NationPress) Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan is preparing to hoist the National Flag at the iconic Gandhi Maidan in Patna on Republic Day, January 26. The concluding rehearsals for the celebration have been carried out successfully in the presence of Patna Commissioner, District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh, and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Avkash Kumar.
This year, a total of 20 contingents will take part in the Republic Day parade, while 15 departments will exhibit their tableaux. Strict security protocols have been put in place to ensure the safety of all participants.
Gandhi Maidan has been segmented into four zones, with preparations being managed by officials at the Additional District Magistrate and Additional Superintendent of Police levels.
An official stated that 128 CCTV cameras will keep watch over the entire Gandhi Maidan and its vicinity. A temporary police station, control room, and 18 watchtowers have been established for real-time surveillance, and the area will be lit by 136 LED metal lights, 229 pole lights, and 20 high-mast lights to ensure excellent visibility and security.
Officials are also focusing on crowd management, maintaining law and order, and ensuring smooth traffic flow in the vicinity of Gandhi Maidan. Departmental teams have been instructed to stay active and coordinate effectively for the seamless execution of the event.
