Bihar: Leaders from RJD and Jan Suraaj Merge with JD-U Ahead of Assembly Elections

Patna, Dec 10 (NationPress) A number of influential figures from Jan Suraaj and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) made the switch to JD-U on Tuesday.

The state president of JD-U, Umesh Kushwaha, warmly welcomed key leaders from Jan Suraj, including Dinesh Ojha from Bhojpur district, Sunil Kumar from Jamui, and Santosh Jaiswal from Bettiah, along with their supporters.

Moreover, Supriya Kumari, a district councillor from Rohtas, recognized for her commitment to women’s empowerment, also joined JD-U with her followers. She commended Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for his policies, mentioning her long-standing desire to collaborate under his guidance to further bolster his initiatives.

To underscore this strategic move, JD-U organized two separate ceremonies, showcasing the party’s intention to gather support ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. Senior party figures, including ministers Lesi Singh, Jama Khan, Ratnesh Sada, and Sheela Mandal, were present to greet the new members.

During the event, Umesh Kushwaha conveyed his optimism that these new additions would significantly fortify the party as it gears up for the 2025 Assembly elections.

He assured the newcomers of their value and active engagement within the party, stating, “Their arrival will strengthen the party’s foundation. Everyone joining us will be given due recognition in the party.”

“JD-U, under Nitish Kumar’s leadership, has been emphasizing its developmental agenda, focusing on women’s empowerment, governance, and social justice. His forthcoming Mahila Samvad Yatra is yet another demonstration of his dedication to the people of Bihar. He works for every section of society,” Kushwaha remarked.
