Patna, Nov 24 (NationPress) With the assignment of responsibilities in the freshly established Nitish Kumar administration, ministers have officially begun taking control of their designated departments.
On Monday, prominent JDU figure Bijendra Yadav took the helm of the Liquor Prohibition Department. Upon assuming his role, Yadav reaffirmed the government's pledge to uphold the liquor ban in Bihar.
“Liquor remains prohibited in Bihar, and this policy will persist. We will hold a review meeting, pinpoint deficiencies, and guarantee efficient implementation on the ground,” he stated.
Surendra Mehta also took over the Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Department. Expressing his appreciation to the Chief Minister, Mehta mentioned, “The Chief Minister has placed his trust in me. We plan to hold review meetings with departmental officials and devise a strategy to deliver essential support to cattle breeders and fishery farmers.”
Simultaneously, Sanjay Singh Tiger, the newly appointed Minister of Labour Resources, outlined his top priorities upon taking office. “We aim to expedite ongoing projects within our department. We have established targets and are determined to meet them. Our emphasis will be on advancing skill development initiatives in Bihar and promoting the welfare of workers,” Tiger declared.
He further noted that a thorough review meeting will be convened shortly to finalize the department's priorities.
Nitin Nabin assumed the role of Minister of Road Construction. During the induction ceremony, he underscored his primary goals for the future of the department.
Earlier on Saturday, Dilip Jaiswal took charge as the Minister of Industries. Close aide of Nitish Kumar, Ashok Choudhary, who has been entrusted with the Rural Work Department, also assumed his office on Saturday. Deepak Prakash, son of RLM chief and Rajya Sabha MP Upendra Kushwaha, took charge of his role after being appointed as the Panchayati Raj Minister on the same day.
On November 20, Nitish Kumar was sworn in as Chief Minister for the tenth time, with a total of 26 ministers being inducted into the new cabinet from various NDA constituents — 14 from the BJP, 8 from the JDU, 2 from the LJP(RV), 1 from the RLM, and 1 from HAM.
