Patna, Aug 13 (NationPress) In a significant operation named Naya Savera, the Saran police in Bihar successfully rescued 10 minor girls from four orchestra parties within the district on Wednesday.
The operation commenced around 10 am under the leadership of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kumar Ashish.
The rescued victims consist of six girls from West Bengal, one from Odisha, one from Jharkhand, and two from Bihar.
The police are actively reaching out to their families to facilitate a safe return.
In connection with this case, seven individuals have been apprehended on charges of exploiting these minor girls.
Those arrested include Neeraj Yadav (son of Lalbabu Rai), Gopal Badi, Talib Khan (son of Narhum Alam Mian), Shubham Kumar (son of Shivnarayan Prasad), Junab Hussain (son of Abdul Hussain), Ankit Kumar (son of Kanhaiya Bhagat), Mohammad Bittu Hashmi (son of Mohammad Minsharif Hashmi), and Chandan Kumar Tiwari (son of Gautam Tiwari), all based in Saran.
Investigations are ongoing to gather more information about additional suspects. The arrested individuals will face court proceedings in the district.
This raid was initiated following directives from the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), with three teams from the Mahila Thana and one from the Isuapur police station executing simultaneous operations against Rahul Orchestra, Sangeeta Orchestra, Muskaan Orchestra, and Vipin Orchestra operating in the Mashrakh and Isuapur blocks.
According to SSP Ashish, the minors were subjected to torture and forced to perform.
An FIR (Number 74/25) has been lodged at the women’s police station, and the authorities are continuing their efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects.
“The Naya Savera operation commenced in August and will persist until August 14. We urge the community to provide information regarding such incidents for prompt action,” stated the SSP.
The district police are also monitoring an interstate human trafficking network operating in the vicinity.
