Patna, Jan 28 (NationPress) In a coordinated effort, the Nalanda Police, along with the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) and Mission Mukti Foundation, successfully liberated 20 girls from an orchestra company located in the Pawapuri area of Nalanda on Tuesday.

Authorities have detained four individuals associated with the company. Sunil Kumar Singh, the SDPO of the Rajgir range, stated: “The NCPCR and Mission Mukti Foundation officials provided crucial information regarding the orchestra company. They reached out to the district SP's office, and with the SP's guidance, we provided assistance during the raid. We rescued 20 girls and apprehended four operators,” Singh explained.

Initial investigations suggest that some of the rescued girls are minors.

“We have verified the ages of some girls using the documents they possessed. However, we currently lack the necessary tools for precise age verification. NCPCR officials have requested to take charge of the case for further investigations to determine their ages. Once their findings are available, we will file an FIR,” Singh added.

The orchestra company had been functioning in a village under the Pawapuri outpost for the past eight months, operated by a husband-and-wife team who have been detained along with two other individuals.

Director of Mission Mukti Foundation, Virendra Kumar Singh, emphasized the exploitation faced by these girls.

“These girls were coerced into performing in orchestras after being misled with false promises of a better future. This rescue operation marks a significant step in combating such exploitation,” he stated.

The raid, executed early on Tuesday, has created a sense of alarm among other orchestra operators in the vicinity.

Pushpa Kumari, the in-charge of the women’s police station, along with a team that included NCPCR officers and others, participated in the operation.

This rescue operation underscores ongoing efforts to tackle child exploitation and trafficking within the region.

Further investigations are in progress to ascertain the involvement of the operators and secure justice for the victims.
