Patna, Feb 13 (NationPress) The Bihar Police have issued a property attachment notice against Monu Singh, a notorious gangster from the Mokama area, in Nauranga-Jalalpur village under Pachmahala police station on Thursday.
Monu Singh was implicated in the Mokama firing incident that involved former MLA Anant Kumar Singh.
This action was initiated on Thursday, as Monu Singh continues to be absconding, while his brother Sonu Singh has already been apprehended.
The Barh Subdivision administration had previously mandated the property attachment based on FIR number 03/25 filed at Pachmahala police station.
In response, a police team led by Barh ASP Rakesh Kumar arrived at Monu Singh’s residence and affixed the attachment notice on his house.
During the operation, Monu Singh’s sister Neha Singh contested the police action, claiming that the house was hers and not her brother's. She protested vehemently, asserting that while the police could apprehend Monu, they had no right to place a notice on her property.
As tensions heightened, family members tore down and discarded the notice.
ASP Rakesh Kumar cautioned that legal repercussions would follow for anyone who obstructed police operations.
In a broader operation, police also affixed notices for two additional absconding suspects in Jalalpur village, employing drums and music to publicly announce their fugitive status.
This included posters at Monu Singh’s residence, where his wife tore down the notice in front of ASP Rakesh Kumar. Saurabh Kumar, another accused in this case, faced opposition from his parents, while Gautam Kumar’s family also protested.
With law enforcement from eight different stations present, the operation encountered significant resistance from the families of the accused. Despite this opposition, police proceeded with affixing the notices and pledged to pursue legal action against those who interfered.
The firing incident in Nauranga-Jalalpur village occurred on January 23rd, when former MLA Anant Singh and the Sonu-Monu gang exchanged fire, discharging over 200 rounds.
Nauranga-Jalalpur is the hometown of Sonu and Monu, and Anant Singh visited to reclaim a house purportedly seized by the Sonu-Monu gang.
