Bhubaneswar, Jan 14 (NationPress) The Biju Janata Dal (BJD), the opposition party, has criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led state government, claiming that since the BJP assumed power, the state's administrative framework has begun to deteriorate.
In a recent press release, the party accused the ruling BJP of attempting to transform government offices into party headquarters. The regional party has expressed strong disapproval of what they perceive as the misuse of government facilities by the BJP.
Party spokesperson and Media Coordinator Dr. Lenin Mohanty stated that a BJP party in-charge meeting, scheduled for January 15, was included in the district visit itinerary of State Food Supplies Minister Krushna Chandra Patra.
The BJD alleged that the Minister's tour plan indicates that the party in-charge meeting is set to take place in the Collector’s Conference Hall during his visit to Sambalpur.
Furthermore, the BJD claims that directives have been issued to the Collector, mandating all district government officials to attend this party meeting.
“Serious concerns arise regarding how a BJP party in-charge and other party officials can conduct a meeting in the Collector’s Conference Hall, and why government personnel should be present. This clearly suggests that the BJP is trying to convert government facilities into party venues,” Mohanty asserted.
The senior BJD leader pointed out that under BJP governance, disturbances caused by BJP leaders and members in government offices, along with assaults on government officials, have become commonplace. He accused the ruling BJP of exerting pressure on government employees to promote the partisan interests of its members by organizing party meetings within government premises.
“The governance structure has reached a critical point of failure, leading to widespread frustration among the populace. Therefore, the BJP must cease its attempts to convert government offices into party venues; otherwise, the Biju Janata Dal will be compelled to take to the streets,” Mohanty warned.
